Chat/Video Conferencing Terms of Service

The following terms and conditions will govern your use of the Chat/Video Conferencing service (“Service”) offered through Star One Credit Union (“Credit Union”, “We”, “Our”, or “Us”). By accessing, using, or downloading any materials for the Service, you agree to these Service terms. These terms apply in addition to the Credit Union’s Privacy Policy and account and service terms governing your accounts, loans, and services with us.

The Chat/Video Conferencing Service permits you to engage in a live, face-to-face conversation; chat communication, video conferencing and co-browsing through a computer or mobile device with Credit Union staff to provide you personal assistance with the applicable transaction or service inquiries. The Services with Credit Union staff will generally involve an exchange of information to assist with the initiation or access to accounts and services. The Service does not include or constitute electronic services or electronic funds transfers.

To initiate a chat/video interaction with us and depending on the nature of your inquiry, you may need to provide identity verification information and may allow access to the microphone and camera of your computer or mobile device to the Chat/Video Conferencing application. Once enrolled you must have the access and security code requirements to connect to the Service. An internet connection is required to use the Service, which may require data usage. The Credit Union will not be held responsible for any data charges that occur from your use of the Service. We recommend connecting to a secure Wi-Fi network before accessing the Service from a mobile device.

Use of this Service may require you to download additional software or plugins (“Software”). Your download is subject to any rules or policies applied by the browser provider or app store used for this Service. We may also utilize cookies or similar technology (“Cookies”) to create a secure connection between your computer or device and our systems. Any data collected from these Cookies is stored securely by us and is not aligned with your member record or held in any way that is linked to you or can identify you. By using the Service and downloading the Software, you agree to us collecting and using technical information from your device for us to provide the Service.

The Credit Union may collect and retain information from you, including personal information, when you use the Chat/Video Conferencing Service. The Chat/Video Conferencing Service may use artificial intelligence and may use information collected from the service to train and improve the Chat/Video Conferencing Service. Please review our Privacy Policy, which can be accessed at www.starone.org/privacy/, to obtain additional information regarding our collection and use of your information.

You agree we may record and store video, audio, or chat communications of your interactions through the Service. By using this service, you consent to having your facial profile, voice, and chat communications recorded for the duration of the interaction. Because we may store information shared during your use of this Service, we highly recommend not sharing cardholder information while using the Service.

You may choose not to use or terminate using the Service at any time. You must not use the Service in any unlawful manner or for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to restrict your access to the Service or terminate the Service if you fail to comply with these terms of service. Access to and use of this Service is subject to all applicable federal, California, and local laws and regulations. You agree not to use the Service in any way which violates such laws and regulations.

Star One Credit Union provides services through a variety of channels including phone, video, online, mobile and branch channels. We are committed to providing our Chat/Video Conferencing Service in a manner that is convenient and accessible to members, including members using assistive technologies.
