In addition to our checking and savings accounts, we offer services like coin redemption, notary service, cashier's checks and more.
Coin Redemption
Shake out your piggy bank. Each Star One branch features a coin-counting machine that can deposit the value of your coins directly into your Star One account.
Foreign or damaged coins will not be counted and may not be returned.
Foreign Currency
Foreign Check Collection
If it’s from a bank outside the United States, or in a foreign currency, it’s a foreign check. They can’t be deposited in the same way we deposit domestic checks, so it’s a bit of a process.
Star One will collect foreign checks given a minimum check amount of $250.
Fee: $50 plus any fees from issuing bank
Foreign Currency Exchange
Star One doesn’t offer foreign currency exchange services. But we don’t charge foreign exchange fees, so you can feel good using your card when you travel.
Medallion STAMP Signature Guarantee
Medallion STAMP Signature Guarantee is a security service that validates your identity when you're transferring securities (stocks, bonds, etc.). Banks and brokers require it to prevent fraud.
Star One Credit Union is a qualified guarantor of Medallion Signature Guarantees up to $250k for members.
Required documents:
Valid identification (government-issued photo ID, such as a valid driver's license, passport book, or military ID)
Recent account statement
If the endorser is acting in a capacity other than that of the registered owner, such as an executor, trustee, attorney-in-fact or other legal capacity, documents showing proof of his/her authority to endorse, such as Trust Agreements, Power of Attorney forms or court appointment paperwork is required. If applicable, a death certificate will be requested.

Notary Service
No need to wait. Make an appointment to have a document notarized at any branch. Members can request their first signature for free.
Fee: $15 for members and non-members
Cashier's Checks
Sometimes, especially for big purchases, a seller will ask you to provide a cashier’s check.
It’s like your credit union saying, "we've already taken this money from their personal account, so this check won't bounce."
Request a Cashier's Check by phone, fax or Touchtone Teller before 3:00 p.m. PST, and we’ll mail you the check that day. Any requested after 3:00 p.m. PST are mailed to the members' home address on the following business day.

U.S. Savings Bond Redemption
The Credit Union redeems U.S. Savings Bonds (Series E, EE and I) at all Star One branch locations.
All bonds redeemed must be eligible and due for payment. The bonds must be signed in the presence of a Star One representative. Additional U.S. Bond redemption requirements must be fulfilled at the time of redemption, so call us if you have any questions.
